In accordance with the Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016, as amended from time to time, and the guidelines issued under the Centralized Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) Portal for Plastic Packaging by the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Buildskill acknowledges its responsibility towards environmentally sound management of plastic packaging waste generated from its products.

What is Plastic Waste?

Plastic waste refers to discarded plastic material, including plastic packaging, which is no longer in use and is intended to be disposed of. This includes:

Primary, secondary, and tertiary plastic packaging
Plastic components used for wrapping, protection, storage, or transportation of products
Plastic packaging waste generated post-consumption

Improper disposal of plastic waste leads to environmental pollution, soil and water contamination, and poses risks to human and animal health.

Plastic Waste Management in India

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) has notified the Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016, which mandate Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) for producers, importers, and brand owners (PIBOs).

Under EPR, producers are responsible for:

Collection and channelization of plastic packaging waste
Ensuring environmentally sound recycling or disposal
Fulfilling targets as prescribed by CPCB/SPCBs
Registration and reporting through the Centralized EPR Portal

The Company ensures:

Proper assessment of plastic packaging material introduced into the market
Fulfillment of annual EPR targets as prescribed
Engagement with CPCB-authorized Plastic Waste Processors (PWPs) for collection, recycling, and processing
Maintenance of records and submission of returns through the EPR Portal

Category I: Flexible plastic packaging (single or multilayer)

Collection and Channelization Mechanism

Buildskill has established mechanisms to ensure effective collection and channelization of plastic packaging waste generated from its products:

Plastic packaging waste is collected through authorized channels
Waste is transferred only to CPCB-registered Plastic Waste Processors
Recycling, end-of-life disposal, or processing is carried out in accordance with prescribed environmental norms
EPR certificates are generated and accounted for through the Centralized EPR Portal
